Qazvin province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran and is located in the northwestern part of the country. This province, with only 1% of the country’s area, has a role of nearly 8% in Iran’s economy and products. The area of this province is about 15,820 square kilometers and it is neighboring the provinces of Mazandaran, Gilan, Hamedan, Zanjan, Markazi and Alborz. This province is one of the seismic provinces of Iran.
According to the statistics of 2016, the population of Qazvin province is equal to 1.3 million people, of which 600,000 are residents of Qazvin city.
This province is one of the historical provinces of Iran and has many ancient monuments, so that 11% of the registered national historical monuments are located in Qazvin province and in this regard is ranked first in Iran. Tarom Sofla tourist and historical region in the northwest of the province is one of the attractions of this province, and Samiran Castle is also located in this region as the oldest historical monument of the province.
Also, the historical region of Alamut, which was known as Rudbar Alamut until 1373, is located in Qazvin and includes two parts, east and west, the western part of which is the largest part in the mountainous region of the province and the eastern part in It is smoother compared to the western part.
