- Applying visa on your own:
Iranian visas are E-visas, so you can fill out the forms and pay visa fees online to receive the visa authorization code. Please find the website of Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and follow the instructions to complete the forms.
- Upon Arrival Visa:
Citizens of 160 countries are able to travel to Iran and collect their visas in any of Iranian international airports, as announced by Iran government in July 2016. It may take time to follow all the instructions due to the limited number of staff in visa departments. Nevertheless, it is still much easier than referring to any of Iranian consulates abroad.
Notes for citizens of United States, England and Canada :
1- Due to political issues, citizens of US, England and Canada needs to participate in a guided tour from beginning to end. This means that they should contact a travel/tour agency, to choose a guided tour and also apply for visa authorization code. The process will take thirty working days and approval would take an additional ten days.
2-Travelers should plan to apply for a visa authorization code three months before their intended arrival.
