YAZD

The name of this city means the holy land and the city of God. Throughout history, you can see the name of Yazd in many travelogues. Throughout history, there is a lot of evidence which this city is one of the first areas where the Aryans appeared.
Bahram Gour, the fifteenth Sassanid king, on his way to Khorasan, reached the province of Kath (modern Yazd) and because his illness improved, he blessed this city and ordered that it be developed and a city Create a beautiful. The Atabaks of Yazd was one of the dynasties of Iran which ruled Yazd for nearly 140 years. At the time of Genghis Khan the Mongol invasion of Iran, Yazd was under the rule of Sultan Qutbuddin, of the Atabakan dynasty. He quickly accepted the Mongol domination and his successors remained in Yazd as the puppets of the Mongols. With adequately and cleverly he protected Yazd from the wrath of the Mongols. In the Zandieh and Qajar periods, this city flourished.

Yazd is one of the hot and dry cities of Iran, that is located between Shirkuh and Khoranagh mountains. This city is actually located in a plain between two mountains that has caused the city to be too dry. Yazd city is neighboring with some big cities such as Meybod, Ardakan, Bafgh, Isfahan, Taft, Abarkooh and Mehriz. The height of this city is 1200 meters above sea level. Lary house of is one of the historical tourist attractions of Yazd, that is 150 years old. The most important handicrafts in Yazd province are: carpets, rugs, kilims, velvet, cashmere, curtains, zillow, rugs, canvas, baqcheh, long, bath bags, pouches, blankets, pottery, ceramics, mats, tiles and quilts.
Among the handicrafts of carpet weaving, cashmere weaving, zillow weaving, pottery, ceramics and tiles are of special importance. Confectionery has a long history in Yazd. In Yazd, traditional sweets such as baklava, qotab, coconut, pashmak, rice bread and Haji Badam, etc. is prepared.

Local customs of Yazd
At the end of the year, the younger ones visit the elders and perform the Nowruz visit. One of the differences between Nowruz in Yazd and other cities in the country is that on the first day of Nowruz, the traditional food of Eid is vegetable pilaf with meat. During Nowruz, valuable gifts are sent by the husband’s family to girls who intend to get married.

In Yazd, there is an interesting tradition to commemorate the martyrs of Imam Hassan, a ceremony called Nakhl Gardani! An authentic ceremony in the customs of Yazd that is a special manifestation of Hosseini Ashura. In the days of Muharram, a palm tree is made of wood and leaves in the shape of a cypress, that is a symbol of the coffin of the martyrs. This symbolic coffin weighs a lot and is lifted off the ground by dozens of people. During Muharram, the people of Yazd walk around the city that is also called “narration” in their own dialect and is a symbol of the endurance and freedom of the martyrs.
Arbaneh is the oldest and only traditional instrument of the people of Yazd that is considered native and is played with local poems in happy ceremonies. In the past, people played the harp at weddings, and others danced and danced to the encouragement of local poetry.

In the morning we go to visit Jameh Mosque and bazaar, In the afternoon we go to visit Dolat-Abad Garden which belongs to Afshar dynasty. By digging a 65-kilometer-long aqueduct, the water is conducted to garden. This garden has the biggest windward in the world.

Yazd

Today we go to visit Khoranagh village, which has an extraordinary beauty and its climate is much cooler than Yazd.
