Silver Beach

Silver Beach

Silver Beach is one of the famous beaches in the south of the country and the sightseeing places of Hormozgan, that is located in the northwestern part of Hemga Island. The beauty of this beach captivates the eyes of every viewer. In this beach, the ground is covered with black and silver sand. Walking on the soft and shining sands of Hamgam Island and watching the beautiful waves of the blue Persian Gulf takes a person to the land of childhood dreams.

Natural attractions are valuable and attractive as long as they remain intact. Every nature traveler and tourist should take this issue very seriously so as not to destroy the divine and important blessings of the country through selfishness or negligence.

Due to the removal of the sand of Silver Beach from the area by tourists and to prevent the permanent destruction of this scenic and natural attraction, tourists are not allowed to enter the beach or disembark from it. Travelers can only watch the beach from a distance and on a barge or ship.

To go to Hamga Island, you have to go from Bandar Abbas to Qeshm. The distance between Shahid Zakari Qeshm port and Kendalo wharf or Shib Daraz is about 56 km and it takes 50 minutes.

The silver beach of Qeshm is one of the special natural landscapes of the country and perhaps the most beautiful beach in Iran. The reason for the fame of this beach is the sparkling sands. The beautiful silver beach of the island is very eye-catching both during the day and at night. When the waves of the sea reach the shore and collide with its luminous particles; their brightness increases several times and this glow remains for a few seconds.

The reason why the sand on Silver Beach shines is when there are shiny minerals. These particles shine in the sunlight and actually reflect the light. Planktons and powdered seashells also play a role in this beach glow.

Phytoplanktons are living and tiny nutritious organisms that live in the water of oceans and seas. The presence of phytoplankton in the water makes the sea appear green due to its green color. When the sea is rough, these creatures emit a blue light. This phenomenon occurs mostly in the afternoon of autumn; Of course, this glow at night has a multifold effect.

Walking on the sands of the silver beach at night will be very memorable when you have a flashlight in your hand, and the glittering particles of the beach sand will be very vivid under the light of the lamp.

In Hengma Island and Silver Beach, transparent and bright minerals have gradually been eroded and powdered in different geological periods. The combination of fine sparkling particles with the sands of the beach has formed this extraordinary natural attraction. Fall and early spring are the best time to visit Hemga Island.

For many people, traveling to the island is a one-day trip and does not require special facilities. It is necessary to bring a camera, cool cotton clothes, comfortable shoes, sunglasses and a sun hat. These lovely creatures are present in the region until the middle of May. Until today, about 13 of the 40 species of dolphins known in the world have been seen in the waters of the Persian Gulf. Beautiful and playful dolphins go up and down in the water and perform a unique show of their abilities in front of the passengers.

According to the natives’ belief, mother and daughter ask God for help to save them from the people who were looking for them, and God turned them into stone and thus they were saved.

During the Safavid period, the Portuguese came to the island and conquered it for a while. Today, there are few remains of the Portuguese shipwreck around the island. This historical attraction is located near a part of Hamgam Island known as the Natural Aquarium.
