Arsbaran forest or Qara Dagh is one of the most beautiful Iranian forests located in Kalibar city of East Azerbaijan. Many years ago, Arsbaran continued from the slopes of the Mughan plain in Ardabil to the slopes of Sahand. Today only part of it remains. These beautiful forests, which are located on the compact and beautiful mountains of Qara Dagh, are always under a layer of fog, which adds to its beauty and eye-catching. Arasbaran forests, which are located in the vicinity of Aras river, have an area of ​​about 70 thousand hectares. Due to the high richness of flora and fauna, Arsbaran forest has been selected by UNESCO as one of the 9 valuable biological reserves of Iran. Arsbaran is located in the north of East Azarbaijan province and is the meeting point of three air currents: Caspian, Caucasian and Mediterranean.

Arsbaran is home to 215 species of birds, 48 ​​species of mammals, 29 species of reptiles and about 17 species of fish, which are very attractive and unique in their own way. Goats, wild boars, forest cats, brown bears, black storks, eagles, black storks, vultures, golden eagles, pheasants, pheasants, and the rare species of Caucasian black fowl, as well as Arsbaran deer, are only part of the inhabitants of this legendary forest. This region has a cool and cold climate in most months of the year and snowfall is its pattern. In addition to the snowfall, the constant presence of a layer of fog in the heights of Arsbaran has created more freshness and vitality in this area and it is famous for invisible rain. Arsbaran contains more than 1400 different plant species, which are placed in different categories such as herbaceous plants, medicinal plants, fruit trees, mushrooms, etc. Rosemary, maple, oak, sumac, barberry, wild cherry, raspberry, blueberry, gorse and all kinds of medicinal plants and wild flowers are part of the vegetation of Arsbaran.

Arsbaran, a small part of which is called Arsbaran National Park, is also famous for having very beautiful and impressive heights, dense forests, vast plains, rivers and springs, hot water springs, rich and very green vegetation, and animal cover. Amazing, it has one of the most beautiful views of nature and is very popular among hikers and hikers. Arsbaran has very valuable historical monuments such as Babak Castle, Joshin Castle, Pashto Castle, Napeshte Church, Ainalu Church, Ayanelu Palace and the tomb of Sheikh Shahab Ahri. This area has amazing and extraordinary views. Some nomadic tribes also live in the heights of Arsbaran
