Pottery

Pottery is the art of making dishes, … from soil. The best soil in pottery industry is red clay which contain more iron. Archaeological excavations have shown that first pottery belongs to Jiroft civilization. Clay pots delay the rotting process and help keeping the food and edibles for longer times. This industry step by step grow in the middle east especially in Iran also design of pottery during the time become perfect. We can see the first animation which was painting on clay pot belong to Shahre Sukhteh with 5000 years’ civilization.

In Iran, pottery dates back more than 10,000 years. The oldest pottery wheel and kiln in the world has been found in Susa.  “In this place (Kashan Silk), red pottery has also been found, which in terms of industry seems to be somewhat more complete than the previous vessels, and it turns out that they were made in elementary kilns. In the fourth millennium BC, the people of the plains of the Iranian plateau made more progress in life. In the village of Silk there is a diagram of it, the inhabitants of this place made delicate pottery and painted the image of birds and wild animals on them in black, and gradually these vessels became clearer and more regular in shape From this it can be surmised that the people of that area had invented wheels to do this, their wheels were a thin board that they put on the ground and turned it by hand, thus giving a more beautiful shape to their dishes. Such dishes have never been found in any of the countries of that time. It can be concluded that the Iranians were superior to other ethnic groups in this industry, and perhaps this invention is specific to them. Images of mountain goats, horses and the sun, as well as many geometric shapes can be seen from the pottery found in Silk, and we conclude from these discoveries that although iron and bronze were used in the preparation of various tools and equipment, the pottery and pottery industries flourished. “It has preserved itself.

Cow Ontashgal

Ontashgal was an Elamite kingdom known as the Elamite period of glory, and the important temple of the Choghaznabil Ziggurat was built during his reign. The temple is located southeast of the city of Susa, and archaeologists have discovered valuable artifacts from the Elamite civilization in the area.

One of these important works is “Ontashgal Cow” which is kept in the Museum of Ancient Iran and can be visited in the historical part of this museum. This cow is made of glazed baked pottery, which was placed on the northeastern gate of Choghaznabil Ziggurat. It is believed that the cow’s job was to guard the temple. In addition to its remarkable grandeur and beauty, this cow has an inscription in Elamite script on its back, which carries a message in the following sense, indicating the existence of the “line” thousands of years ago.

Raytheons

Raytheons are the same garments that are often trumpet-shaped and lead from the smaller diameter to the animal figure. Takuks are a kind of luxury device that was mostly used by kings and had a clever application. The tekuks were designed so that the kings knew the amount of syrup they drank and did not overdo it.

In all the discovered rhytons, a rhyton was found in Kelardasht, Mazandaran province, which dates back to the Median period, and it is very important in the sense that pottery was used instead of metal in its construction. In this Raytheon, the Saghar section (the place where the drink is placed) is not separated from the body of the statue, and the hollow statue also forms the Saghar.
