Firoozabad

Firoozabad located in Fars province is an ancient city of Iran. Firoozabad is one of the famous cities of Iran at the Sassanid period. This city was built by Ardashir, the institution of the Sassanid dynasty. At the time of Ardashir, this city was the capital of the Sassanid dynasty. Firoozabad was one of the five provinces of Persia Empire during the Sassanid dynasty. In the Islamic period this city was able to maintain its fame and importance. Firoozabad architecture was considered circular in shape. Firoozabad is the only touring city with circular architecture in the world. In the Islamic time, the first time Firoozabad prosperity is related to the Buyid dynasty. during this period Firoozabad had a mosque, a hospital and a library. In the 7 century AH, ancient Firoozabad was abandoned. In later period, small village was formed outside the city called Kushk then formed and expanded the modern city of Firoozabad. In this place, Haj Emad Al-Molk mansion, small castles and its bazaar were the most important parts of this village until the Qajar period. Firoozabad is very prosperous because its location on the Persian Gulf and the ports of southern Iran. Firoozabad has a road to Siraf, Assaluyeh and Bushehr port.

Nowadays, Firoozabad with 1469 hectares area is located 110 km south of Shiraz. Most people of this city speak Persian. There are several tribes live in the city of Firoozabad which have the Lori dialect. The other group of residents of Firoozabad are Qashqai. The occupation of most people in Firoozabad is agriculture. Firoozabad’s famous local dishes include Dempakht, Ash Doogh and Ghashghaei kebab. The handicrafts this city are carpets, rugs, Gilims, Gabbeh and Jajim. These handicrafts are presented as souvenirs of Firoozabad, in addition to which rose and herbal essences can also be mentioned.

Qashqai is one of the great and important tribes of Iran. The Qashqai have Turkish roots and most of them speak a dialect of Oghuz Turkish. The majority of Qashqai are Shiites. The population of Qashqai tribe in 2016 is 959 thousand people. The main center of Qashqai tribe is Fars province. But due to the vastness of land and territory, they also live in other provinces.

The most important handicrafts of the Qashqai people are carpet weaving, Gilim weaving, Jajim weaving, and Gabbe weaving. In general, the production of handicrafts from the initial stage to the last stage is done by women.

Carpet: Qashqai carpet is the most famous hand-woven carpet among the tribes and nomads of Iran. Qashqai carpets are usually woven by “mind weaving” and tribal weavers repeat the patterns without using a pattern.

Bag: Bag or mirror is one of the handicrafts of Qashqai tribes which is woven by women and it is used as a bag or bag to carry personal items such as money, luggage, cartridges and so on.
Gilim: Qashqai Gilim is woven as a tent decoration and usually uses bright colors. Qashqai Gilim has a slotted cut and sometimes they use natural cotton threads and brown wool. The Qashqai nomads are the only tribe which uses both yarn and wool to weave Gilim.
Gabbeh: Gabbeh is a type of coarsely woven rug which is woven in small size by Qashqai nomads. Gabbeh has long hairs and more weaves are used in its texture that has a significant effect on Gabbeh’s softness.
Meymand village

The first major producer of roses in Iran is related to Maymand. This village produces more than 10,000 tons of roses annually, which 60% are exported. This village is located in the hot areas of Fars province, which has a mountainous climate. It has a lot of water and a variety of fruits, including grapes. The occupation of the people is mostly agriculture, production of roses and distillates. This village has caravanserai and the mosque.Due to Meymand has a large field of rose flowers, this city is known as Fars Greenhouse. Meymand also has 1,200 hectares of cultivated areas of rain-fed and irrigated rose flower gardens. The irrigated part of that is cultivated in the plains of Meymand and the rainfed part is cultivated in the northern and southern heights of Meymand.
Hayqar Strait

Hayqar Strait is located 35 km south of Firoozabad. This Strait is such as a paradise between two mountain ranges. Qara Aghaj River passes through this nice strait. The depth of Hayqar valley reaches 450 meters and its length is between 8 to 14 kilometers. The Hayqar Strait is known as the Grand Canyon of Iran. The Grand Canyon is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. This attraction is located in the U.S. According to geologists, the reason for the emergence of this valley is geographical interactions and the flow of water in this vally has affected the formation of this natural phenomenon. Hayqar Strait is one of the Geopark in Iran.
In Firoozabad tour, we get acquainted with the ancient monuments of the Sassanid period such as Qala-e Dokhtar, Shahr-e-Gour, fire temple of Ardeshir Babakan’s, Ardeshir Babakan relief. We see the unique architecture of this Sassanid dynasty, including dome construction and unique urban planning. We get family with the Qashqai nomadic life and their handicrafts. We go to see the rose fields and get acquainted with how to make roses and prepare distillates. Along the way we see the unique scenery and vegetation of Zagros and Tangab Lake. Itinerary

Day 1

Early in the morning we move to Firoozabad, first we go to see Ardeshir Babakan’s temple with unique architecture and unique domes. Next we go to see the city of Ardeshir Khoreh, one of the most unique cities in the ancient world, and then we go to see the beautiful Hayqar valley. On the way back, if dear tourists are interested in mountaineering, we will visit Dokhtar Castle.
